Addiction Treatment
Gambling – Alcohol – Substances – Addictive Behaviors
The treatment of addictions is not limited to stopping the behavior, but focuses on a deeper understanding of the role it has played in the individual’s life. Addiction is approached as a process connected to needs, experiences, and ways of making meaning of reality.
Through therapy:
• the personal and social stories connected to addiction are explored,
• the needs and emotions it served are recognized,
• the relationship between addiction, identity, and self-image is examined.
Through the narrative approach, the individual is empowered to detach from identifying with the problem and to develop alternative life narratives based on their own values and strengths.
At the same time, the therapeutic process is based on an integrative approach, allowing for the flexible use of different therapeutic tools. In this context, emphasis is placed on impulse regulation, understanding patterns of thought and behavior, strengthening emotional management skills, and relapse prevention.
The goal is not only to move away from addictive behavior, but also to shape a life with meaning, choices, and personal direction.
